My approach

Whatever brings you to therapy, I aim to create a calm and accepting space for you to explore what’s going on, to be yourself and gain greater insight as to who that is. If you feel a desire for change, I work collaboratively with you to decide upon both the route and the destination. And, looking beyond therapy, I hope to help you develop a sense of assurance in your own beliefs and values, and an understanding of how to draw on your inner resources to face life’s challenges.

I work with individuals: adults (ages 16 and above) of all gender identities. My approach is from an integrative model, which means that I’m trained to use elements of the main therapeutic approaches: psychodynamics, person-centred and cognitive-behavioural. People are as varied and diverse as the issues they bring, and I believe finding the right combination of skills and theories suited to you is very important.

I subscribe to the person-centred approach that if the right conditions are created a person can be, and express, themselves authentically. I believe that everyone knows what’s right for them and I see my role as helping you get to know that.
