My approach

I am a professionally qualified counsellor with extensive experience – both in the NHS and privately.

I am empathic and non-judgemental in my approach and believe in the importance of providing a safe space for individuals to explore issues and find what is right for them.

I work with a range of issues such as work-related stress, anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem and relationship problems. Whilst I specialise in person-centred counselling, my approach is integrative and is guided by the needs of the individual.

I realise how important and difficult it is to choose and approach the right counsellor and how daunting it can be to take that first step. Therefore, your first appointment does not commit you to a number of further counselling sessions.

Our first meeting will be an assessment of your issues, an opportunity for you to ask any questions that you may have and will, hopefully, help you decide if counselling is the way forward for you.

Training, qualifications and experience

I hold a:

  • Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling (with distinction)
  • Certificate in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Skills

I have also undertaken various training courses such as existential counselling and bereavement.

As well as working in private practice I also have experience of counselling adults in various organisations and charities including Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Professional affiliations

I am registered with the British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (775199). The BACP is the UK’s largest professional body for the counselling professions.
