My approach

Transactional analysis (TA) is a theory of personality and communication developed by Eric Berne and others in the 1950s and 60s. The theory was built on existing psychoanalytic concepts, incorporating humanistic and cognitive ideas. TA works from the premise that human beings are essentially OK, capable of deciding what they want for their own lives and have the capacity for healing.

My approach incorporates TA principles and integrates other approaches to psychotherapy including psychodynamic, gestalt, existential and transpersonal. Most importantly, I offer a calm, non-judgemental space where clients feel comfortable and supported in sharing painful issues.

Training and qualifications

I hold a clinical diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapeutic Counselling from Metanoia Institute, London.

I am also working towards an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy.

Past experience

I have worked with clients in various settings including community counselling services and university counselling services. I have experience of working with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, childhood abuse, trauma and PTSD, identity issues, complex mental health needs, autism, low self-esteem, relationship issues and bereavement.

As well as working as a psychotherapist, I currently work as a mental health mentor at a leading London university and as a counsellor at an EAP (employee assistance programme)

My undergraduate degree was in philosophy, which influences my work as a psychotherapist. I am not afraid to help clients address the big questions of life.
