I help my clients search for new perspectives and insights, to make new decisions or take new actions. I help them to respond in new ways, instead of repeating old, unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaving that keep them feeling stuck or anxious.
My training and life experience, combined with creative approach to life, provide me with a wealth of tools and techniques that I adapt to the specific needs of each individual. By working together in partnership at the pace that is right for the client, profound change can happen.
It is my belief that everybody is doing the best they can with the resources they believe themselves to have at present. I aim to help them uncover hidden resources they didn’t know they had or had forgotten to draw on. With greater clarity, self-knowledge and awareness of their resources they are able to enhance their life and wellbeing and empower them to live towards a more fulfilling future.
To build resilience, I teach clients self-help tools and techniques that will serve them throughout life.
My training in Time Line Therapy and other trauma release methods enables me to work with the client to release unresolved pain and confusion and move confidently and calmly on from the past.
With issues such as removing unwanted habits or dealing with straightforward phobias, 1 or 2 two sessions may be all that is necessary. Where clients are seeking to understand and change deeper-rooted, more complex emotional and behavioural issues, more sessions may be needed.
Some people ask about hypnosis as a therapy having only seen stage hypnotists. This does give the wrong impression of what hypnosis is and how it can be used to deeply enhance the process of change a client seeks.
With a well-trained, professionally responsible hypnotherapist you will not be subjected to anything that is not of your choosing. You will not be under the power or control of the therapist as you remain in control at all times.
Hypnotherapy works by helping clients relax into a deep state of focus attention where subconscious thoughts, feelings, decisions and behaviours can be recognised and, where necessary, renegotiated. Not all hypnosis needs to be carried out in deep trance. Sometimes the most profound work is done in the lightest of open-eyed trance that someone may not recognise as hypnosis.

I have been in private practice for the past 9 years working with a wide spectrum of clients on a variety of issues.
I have previously worked as a volunteer therapist at One in Four, a charity for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and violence.

- CNHC (Complementary and Natural Health Council)
I abide by the CNHC Code of Ethics.
