Types of therapy I offer
The foundation of what I do lies in the person-centred approach. Depending on your needs, I will integrate other humanistic approaches such as Gestalt and transactional analysis. My practice is eclectic, and clients warm to my open, honest, straight-talking manner.
I will work with you at your own pace, supporting you to find a way through your problems in ways that feel right for you, and in ways that hold true meaning for you.
I provide a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental environment where you can explore, develop and nourish that authentic part of your Self.
I encourage you to use me as a kind of sounding board and a catalyst for change. Counselling is about change and shifting perspectives, so we will work to gain insight into your issue, exploring those patterns of behaviour that no longer serve you well, helping you gain more self-awareness so that you can make more conscious choices in your life.
Training, qualifications and experience
I ran emotional wellbeing workshops for over 7 years before training as a counsellor in 2011.
In a previous life I was a creative director in advertising and a professional artist.
Having gained a Level IV Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling, I worked in a women’s health centre for 5 years, gained a wealth of experience through various charities (including one contracted by the NHS to conduct its adult Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service), and more recently work for Employee Assistance Programme organisations.
I am a registered accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
Code of ethics
I adhere to the BACP ethical framework.
