My approach

At the onset of a brief or long-term therapy journey, following an initial assessment, my primary focus lies in establishing a profound connection with the client and relationally embracing their narrative. That forms the bedrock of any effective therapeutic process, fostering a secure and trustworthy environment for addressing your challenges and defining the desired outcomes.

People often describe me as an empathetic and attentive listener. This phase frequently encourages clients to articulate thoughts and emotions that may have previously remained unspoken.

Upon reaching the 6-week mark, I’ll incorporate a review to gauge the ongoing results of our therapeutic partnership. That might be a brief check-in or a more in-depth discussion. We may schedule periodic reviews throughout long-term therapy to ensure we remain on the right track.

As our therapeutic journey unfolds, or if the client expresses an interest, I may introduce various modalities beyond verbal communication. My integrative and arts-based training allows me to draw from diverse tools rooted in multiple traditions, such as role-play, sand-tray therapy and other creative techniques. These additional methods facilitate a deeper exploration of the initially presented issues.

Therapy is an exploration that should encompass an element of enjoyment alongside the inevitable challenges. I’ve observed that this balance can lead to a more fulfilling life. I eagerly anticipate the opportunity to meet and work with you.

Supervision

I also offer counselling, psychotherapy and coaching supervision. My approach to supervision draws from my integrative training and incorporates additional elements that I believe are essential to the process: normative, transformative, restorative, creative, ethical and inclusive.

I offer supervision sessions lasting 60 minutes or more, with a choice of meeting on a fortnightly or monthly basis.
