My aim is to create an honest, understanding and non-judgemental space for you to explore what is going on for you in your life at the moment. I won’t tell you what to do, but will support you to gain greater self-awareness, and make decisions and changes should you wish to do so. I will also help you to challenge thoughts and behaviours that you may find unhelpful, and look at the feelings that accompany these.
There are many different names for the difficulties people have (depression, anxiety etc.) but really they can all be summed up as having a troubled mind. Looking at whatever is troubling you should help you to feel calmer, more in control of your life, and ultimately happier.
I have seen how counselling can have a positive effect on peoples’ lives and I believe speaking to a trained listener can bring clarity where there is confusion, and replace helplessness with hope.
Training, qualifications and experience
I studied for four years and hold a Higher Professional Diploma in Counselling (with Distinction). In addition to this I have undertaken courses in areas such as bereavement, substance misuse and anger releasing.
I have experience of counselling in various organisations including a bereavement charity and a HIV charity. In addition to this I have worked and volunteered for a number of charities, including running music therapy workshops for young people.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (membership number 827127). This is the largest professional body for counsellors in the UK.

I work to the BACP codes of conduct in terms of ethics, confidentiality, complaints procedure and general good practice.
