My approach

Coming to therapy can be daunting, and you have probably spent time a lot of time thinking through the decision to ask for help. Therapy needs to feel the right fit for you.

As a clinical psychologist I can help you understand how and why things are feeling the way they are – and, importantly, finding ways to move forward. This might be in relation to mental health concerns and/or for personal development work.

Therapy with me will involve an initial assessment (this tends to take around 1 to 2 sessions), and then following this developing a plan for therapy together. At this point we will discuss how many sessions are likely to feel the most helpful, and how we will review this.

If you need a straight talking, kind (and human!) therapist to help you work out where you want to be – you are in the right place.

I also offer:

  • clinical supervision to other therapists
  • autism assessments as part of a multi-disciplinary team that use ‘gold standard’ assessment tools, and are in line with National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recommendations

Intensive therapy is offered as either full days or half days.

Training, qualifications and experience

In the UK, the training to become a clinical psychologist takes on average around 8 years, and includes completing a doctorate in the NHS.

I have significant experience of providing therapy in the NHS and private sector, alongside specialist assessments of mental health, cognitive functioning and neurodivergence.

I am also the first UK provider of the Equilateral Equine Assisted EMDR model, and also offer canine assisted EMDR. You can find out more about this on my website.

I have a great deal of experience in working with neurodivergent clients, many of whom have had their needs misunderstood and undiagnosed for a significant period.
