My approach

I can offer you a secure, compassionate and non-judgemental space to explore your feelings and any aspects of your life where you feel stuck. Using a range of theory and approaches including Gestalt, person-centred, mindfulness and creative tools (such as poetry and creative writing), I will work with you to raise your self-awareness so that wounds can be healed and new paths forged.

Training, qualifications and experience

I hold a Diploma in Gestalt Counselling and a Certificate in Humanistic Counselling from the Gestalt Centre, accredited by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

In addition to my private client work, I have worked as a NHS talking therapy counsellor for a number years and continue to work in this area. I hold a NHS Practitioner Certificate in Counselling for Depression (PCE CfD).

I also hold a Certificate in the Therapeutic Use of Mindfulness.

I regularly attend courses that explore creative writing such as journaling and poetry as a therapeutic tool

My background is in education where I worked for many years prior to becoming a counsellor.

Professional affiliations

I am an accredited member of the BACP.

My work is regularly supervised by BACP-accredited supervisors.

I am also a member of Lapidus International (writing for wellbeing).

I hold professional insurance and am DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checked. I am also a member of the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
