My approach

In my experience, the therapeutic relationship is more important than anything else and therapy rarely works without it. I place great emphasis on building a strong, authentic connection and gaining a clear understanding of where you are emotionally and psychologically.

I work in a highly relational way and carry out regular collaborative reviews throughout our time together. Rather than asking whether my approach works in general, I will often ask, “Is this approach working for you right now?” – and if not, “What can we do to adjust it?” This ongoing dialogue helps ensure that the therapy remains responsive to your evolving needs.

In therapy, we’ll work together to make sense of your feelings, thoughts and behaviours. We may explore how past experiences could be shaping your present and how this might be affecting your relationships and overall sense of wellbeing. As we begin to build greater self-awareness, we can start making more informed, compassionate and healthier choices moving forward.

Therapy isn’t always easy — it can be challenging and sometimes uncomfortable — but it can also be a space for creativity, humour, laughter and genuine connection. Whatever comes up, I’ll be right there with you, supporting you every step of the way.
