I have a down-to-earth personality and come across as a “real human” being who won’t sit back and just nod, but someone who is with you, engages with you and can challenge you where needed along the way.
My philosophy is to honour and respect the uniqueness and individual needs of each human being. I value the interconnectedness on all levels, which include physical, emotional, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual aspects of life. Providing the best possible personalised solutions for my clients is an important aspect to help improve mind–body–spirit health and wellbeing. Values close to my heart are to commit to and encourage contribution, compassion, cooperation, creativity and change.
My approach is not narrowly focused on one single therapeutic model, but draws on a variety of psychotherapeutic and complementary health approaches in an integrative and personalised way. I recognise that each person is unique and can benefit from different things at different times in their lives. A flexible and integrative approach encourages individuals to safely, and at their own pace, find more balance within the mind-body-spirit system.
I initially trained as hypno-psychotherapist and now use a combination of integrative and outcome-oriented approaches. I include different therapeutic tools and interventions, focusing on relational, person-centred & solution-focused aspects. Therapeutic programmes are generally time-limited staying predominantly in the here and now and the preferred future. Where appropriate, I utilise aspects of my varied training and interests in an integrative way which includes Gestalt, psychodynamic, hypno-psychotherapy, somato-sensory work, transactional analysis, Clean Language, NLP, HeartMath®, mindfulness, and other tools.
I now also offer equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning programmes to individuals and groups for increased effectiveness and somatic experience work for trauma as well as group coaching.
I am a LGBT-affirmative psychotherapist.
Training, qualifications and experience
I trained at the Awaken School of Outcome Oriented Psychotherapies and gained their Postgraduate Diploma in Outcome Oriented Psychotherapies.
However, learning never stops and I immensely enjoy keeping up with the latest research and developments in the profession, and like to enhance my professional development on a continuous basis. Over the years I have added a number of different psychotherapeutic and healing modalities to my core training, including family constellations work, self-relations therapy, Ericksonian hypnosis, generative trance and coaching, Reiki, play therapy and counselling for children.
In 2015/2016, I added equine-assisted psychotherapy and learning training with LEAP and EAGALA, which is fascinating in its ability to provide a very different working environment and approach. This can be particularly effective when working with deep trauma, PTSD, addictions, depression, anxiety, autism for adults or young people. It is also very useful for couples and groups staying predominantly in the here-and-now and preferred future.
I have been in private practice since 2008 and have been working with individuals and corporate clients of all ages on short-term and long-term contracts.
I am the founder of ADADSU, a London-based company that provides psychotherapy and coaching, complementary health services and educational information in an integrative way to more sustainably improve mind–body–spirit health and wellbeing.
I held positions at various placements as psychotherapist including:
- the West London Centre for Counselling – with adults of all ages including seniors
- Roehampton University – with adolescents and young adults
- Place2Be – with primary school children
- Wandsworth Early Intervention Service
- St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust – with young adults
- United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)
- British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
