My approach

Many of my clients arrive feeling overwhelmed, stuck or like they’re not quite meeting their own standards or those set by others. Some are navigating high-pressure roles and/or managing complicated personal and family dynamics.

I offer a warm, compassionate, grounded and non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. Within this supportive environment we’ll work together to make sense of what’s happening in your life and what may be contributing to your current difficulties. In working with me, you’ll find a place to slow things down and reflect on what’s been shaping your experiences over time. This may include recurring patterns, moments where you feel stuck or ways of relating to yourself or others that no longer feel helpful.

Rather than using a one-size-fits-all model, I take a bespoke, responsive approach and tailor my work to you using a blend of therapeutic approaches. Professionally speaking, this means I’m an integrative psychotherapist. I work across person-centred, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), psychodynamic and trauma-informed approaches.

I originally trained with the NHS and a specialist private counselling service in a trauma-informed practice. I’ve discovered that most of us have experienced trauma of some sort, but we don’t always acknowledge it as such.

Throughout our work together we’ll regularly reflect on how the therapy is progressing, adapting it to your needs and preferences. This continuous refinement helps you reach deeper self-knowledge and develop clarity, insight and a clear sense of direction.

Outside of psychotherapy I am an academic and spend my time researching, writing and teaching. I have a passion for life-long learning, and I am committed to evidence-based practice.
