My approach
You may be facing work-related stress, panic, low self-esteem, obsessive thoughts, specific phobias, or other emotional difficulties that are affecting your quality of life. I understand that seeking help and opening up about what you’re going through can be challenging – especially if you’ve never had the experience of being supported before.
We all encounter difficulties and long for the ability to work through them and move forward. In therapy, we will work together in an empathic, safe and confidential space to explore and make sense of the experiences that have impacted you, and to support your path towards healing and growth.
In our first session, we will take time to think together and explore the history of the difficulties you’ve been experiencing. This initial exploration will help us understand important details that may shape our work together throughout the course of therapy. It will also provide a foundation for making sense of your current experiences.
Depending on your needs, I draw on different therapeutic approaches:
- psychodynamic psychotherapy – exploring how past difficulties, often triggered by present circumstances, affect how you feel and experience life now
- dynamic interpersonal therapy (DIT) – focusing on relationship difficulties, and how the way you relate to yourself and others shapes the patterns in your relationships
- eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR) – helping you process traumatic events and heal from the distress caused by disturbing life experiences
